The Godfather shot a new winter ad campaign in blustery, bleak surroundings recently. Black and white, like most of his work, was the theme. Models posed on iced-over grounds with the blinding beauty of the aurora borealis as a backdrop. Only Karl Lagerfeld can produce winter imagery so basic yet so rich.
We could have fun with those icicles…

Shook President Clinton’s hand tonight at the Clinton Global Initiative MOMA party. Got no picture to post, but I do have one saved on my Motorola phone that was free with a $50 rebate.

Trendy Lower East Side bakery Sugar Sweet Sunshine is bringing back their popular seasonal fall dish, the Pumpkin Trifle Pudding. Layers of pumpkin crumbled cake are topped with eggnog pudding and a ton of whipped cream. Served nice and hot, it’s the perfect way to welcome fall and won’t make you fat at all!
I’ll keep telling myself that.

Come out this Friday, Sept. 25th, to Four11 Gallery in Park Slope. My good friend Kathryn Miriam is throwing a party/fundraiser/preview for Michael Sanzone and Earl Barrett-Holloway newest work ‘The Nursery’. The goal is to raise enough money so they can feature their work at the Aqua Art Miami Beach art fair this December. They are the only independent artists accepted to the fair!
And most importantly an Eighteenth top will be raffled off.

Nicholas Kirkwood x Rodarte Spring 2010
Leather. Spikes. Screws. Oh my.
The Jak&Jill Blog got an exclusive sneak peak of the shoe, a design guru’s dream come true. The stiletto sticks with Kirkwood’s trademark platform, and encorporates Rodarte’s tough edge. Whoever came up with the screw detailing is a genius.
Perfect for pairing with any Eighteenth top and a pair of liquid leggings, of course.

Meet the Aurora Display Case made by Social Designer. A set of 5 acrylic display cases, the Aurora can hold up to 500 pencils, colored or not. Wall mountable and made to display a range of colors, slide your scribing tools in to the cases to curate your own personal collection. High functioning art at its best.
The staff of Eighteenth sketches a lot, so this might come in handy. And will look extraordinarily pretty on our office walls.

Taken at Kirna Zabete on Fashion’s Night Out. That’s Thakoon and Narciso Rodriguez chatting. Jason Wu was also there. Too bad I didn’t get him in the photo. Instead I got some girl’s big elbow.
