All fashion is about what’s new or at least about what we haven’t seen in a while. It’s about novelty. New clothes are how we show off our bodies, what’s happening now in the culture. It’s how we belong to history and signify change. Novelty makes us feel now, even if we are getting on a bit. At least our ideas look fresh. Now.
