Hiroshi Sugimoto’s Theaters is a series of photographs that capture the entire length of a film in a single shot. The result in a simple glowing rectangle which highlights the theater space.

Sugimoto said: Different movies give different brightnesses. If it’s an optimistic story, I usually end up with a bright screen; if it’s a sad story, it’s a dark screen. Occult movie? Very dark.
