These vivid snapshots of fresh treats for your taste buds were taken at the home of Japanese shop owner and fashionista Baby Mary. We love that a fashionista is proudly displaying food, some of it fattening, in her home. After all, one of the greatest pleasures in life (besides fashion, and Eighteenth tops) is enjoying the flavor of a fresh sweet strawberry or a tangy pomegranate, or even the spongy sugar layers of a pound cake!

Rock and Roll Ain’t Dead

This is new model Ashley Smith, who is signed to Trump Management, in a spread for RUSSH Magazine. Her blonder hair, blue eyes and milky white skin makes her look very typical, but when she beams a smile at you, her adorable gap-toothed grin reveals her atypical appeal. She has just the right amounts of attitude and charm, we predict she’ll be the one to watch.

Should Eighteenth look for a gap-toothed model? Do you think this will be a trend?

Eighteenth Kind of Girl

We never get tired of this video of  Scarlett Johansson produced by celebrity photographer and director Cliff Watts no matter how many times we watch it. Watts does a great job of capturing what is really sexy about a woman– not her body, necessarily, but her laughter and spirit.  She reminds us of Marilyn Monroe, mixed with a little bit of vaudeville. But still contemporary, fun and cool.

Definitely an Eighteenth kind of girl.

The Sky’s the Limit

We are simply drooling over the above Spring/Summer 2010 sneak peak of Nicholas Kirkwood’s latest sky-high heels. The designer, who is the fashion community’s platform-constructing darling, gave a special preview of the line to photographer Tommy Ton of Jak&Jill.

We’ve always adored the unique shape of Kirkwood’s platforms, which in this case is just as striking as the vivid boot itself, no? Perfect combo for an Eighteenth top and skinny jeans, we think.

Dip and Dye

Dip-dye hair coloring is a trend now. Katie Shillingford and Drew Barrymore and M.I.A. are all doing it, in varying degrees of color.

Who do you think is pulling it off better? We’re partial to Katie, but M.I.A.’s version is growing on us, the more we think about it…

Skull and Bones

Gothic meets Girly in the photography of Viktor Vauthier. The London bred photographer, who shoots photography during Fashion Week, and in dusty Venice Beach cactus-infected backyards, captured this moment of macabre facing off with the model. A high-waisted skirt and triangle bra add a touch of retro sexiness, while the mussed hair and half-smoked cigarette give the model a darker side. Vauthier uses limited lighting and no airbrushing in his photography, capturing real contrasts and moments.

We love the razor-tough sexiness Vauthier’s mini-editorial captures, it’s just what we would do. If we had a skull lying around…
