The Sartorialist Does NYFW

Man-with-a-camera Scott Schuman, aka The Sartorialist, shot a multitude of his famous candids this past Fashion Week in New York City. Tribal prints, plaids, sequins and menswears were all part of what his camera clicks captured this season as the important people of the hour (or should we say week) made their way in, out of, and around the tents.

Being a fly on the wall of fashion never looked so good.

Skull and Bones

Gothic meets Girly in the photography of Viktor Vauthier. The London bred photographer, who shoots photography during Fashion Week, and in dusty Venice Beach cactus-infected backyards, captured this moment of macabre facing off with the model. A high-waisted skirt and triangle bra add a touch of retro sexiness, while the mussed hair and half-smoked cigarette give the model a darker side. Vauthier uses limited lighting and no airbrushing in his photography, capturing real contrasts and moments.

We love the razor-tough sexiness Vauthier’s mini-editorial captures, it’s just what we would do. If we had a skull lying around…

Winter Winds and Karl

The Godfather shot a new winter ad campaign in blustery, bleak surroundings recently. Black and white, like most of his work, was the theme. Models posed on iced-over grounds with the blinding beauty of the aurora borealis as a backdrop. Only Karl Lagerfeld can produce winter imagery so basic yet so rich.

We could have fun with those icicles…
